Effect of Noise on Communication Signal
We consider signal plus white noise as the model for the received signal.
At the receiver we employ a Sample and Sum detector to detect the input signal. The detector samples received signal N times per bit. Sample and Sum detector is based on the following rule
Where Xi is the ith sample value and N is the number of samples per bit.
You can change the Standard deviation of noise to see how noise impacts the quality of the received signal. A less value of Standard deviation implies that you would see less extereme values of noise. Increase the Standard deviation to about 10 to see stronger effect of noise. As Standard deviation of noise goes up probability of correct detection of signal goes down.
Sample value for standard deviation (square root of variance) = 1 is put here as default.
